About Us

The NW CT Women’s Wellness Expo began as a grass roots effort in 1997 by The Northwestern Connecticut Aids Project, The Susan B Anthony Project and the Early Detection Program at The Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. Their vision was to ensure women in the Northwest Corner of Connecticut had access to the various health care agencies, access to information about women’s health, and access to free or low cost screenings.

The first event was held at Coe Park in Torrington Connecticut -  35 women attended. The beginnings of something amazing had begun.

The NW CT Women’s Wellness Expo saves lives – we’ve discovered high cholesterol, high blood pressure and even breast cancer.  Without the screenings available at the Expo – many women would not have sought out testing on their own.  The Expo offers a non- clinical setting where women feel comfortable asking questions and getting answers.

Today the Expo is a popular event sponsored by local businesses, featuring over 50 vendors and attended by over 1000 women. Held annually at The Armory on South Main Street in Torrington, the Expo continues to grow and help the women of northwest Connecticut and their families. We hope you join us!!
